Shipping, Fabric Pickup & Delivery Policy

At Ankita Boutique, our garments are customised according to the customer’s measurements, fabric, design requirements and other specific instructions. Because custom stitching involves individual labour, fabric handling, cutting, materials and other preparation, cancellation, refund and pricing may depend on the stage of the order.

This policy explains how we generally handle pricing, order changes, cancellations and refunds.

1. Custom-Made Orders

Most of our stitching services are customised according to the customer’s:

  • Measurements;
  • Fabric;
  • Design or reference;
  • Garment type;
  • Stitching requirements;
  • Additional materials; and
  • Other agreed instructions.

A customised garment is different from a standard ready-made product because it is prepared specifically for the customer’s requirements.

For this reason, cancellation or refund may be affected by the stage at which the request is received.

2. Price Confirmation

The applicable stitching price will normally be communicated before the order is confirmed.

The final price may depend on:

  • Garment type;
  • Design complexity;
  • Stitching pattern;
  • Customisation;
  • Embroidery or decorative work;
  • Alteration requirements;
  • Finishing requirements;
  • Additional materials;
  • Fabric-related work;
  • Pickup or delivery requirements; and
  • Any additional work specifically requested by the customer.

Any applicable taxes, delivery charges or other separately chargeable amounts will be communicated where applicable.

3. Additional Materials and Charges

Materials required for a particular garment may be charged separately from stitching charges.

These may include:

  • Lace;
  • Pads;
  • Hooks;
  • Buttons;
  • Zippers;
  • Lining;
  • Interlining;
  • Decorative materials;
  • Accessories; or
  • Other materials required for the confirmed design.

Where reasonably possible, we will communicate additional charges before using or purchasing additional materials.

4. Online Order – Full Payment Before Stitching

The payment and refund treatment may vary depending on whether the order is placed online or through a local/offline arrangement.

Online Orders:
For online custom stitching orders, full payment for the confirmed order is normally required before stitching begins, unless another payment arrangement has been specifically agreed by Ankita Boutique.

Local / Offline Orders:
For local or offline stitching orders, an advance payment may be required before stitching begins, depending on the order, service, materials, pickup/delivery requirements and other applicable circumstances.

Before making payment or confirming an order, customers should review the confirmed:

  • Measurements;
  • Garment requirements;
  • Design/reference;
  • Important design instructions;
  • Applicable charges; and
  • Other relevant order details.

Once the required details have been finalised, required fabric has been received where applicable, and the applicable payment or advance has been received, the stitching process may begin.

5. Fabric Receipt and Order Processing

Where the customer is required to send fabric to Ankita Boutique, stitching will normally begin only after the required fabric has been received.

The actual date of receipt of the fabric may therefore be relevant to the order-processing and completion timeline.

If the fabric, measurements, design confirmation or other information required to proceed is delayed, the expected completion timeline may also be affected.

6. Cancellation Before Stitching Begins

If an order is cancelled before stitching has started, the request may be considered based on the circumstances of the order.

Any refund, where applicable, may take into account amounts already reasonably incurred for:

  • Payment processing;
  • Materials purchased specifically for the order;
  • Additional services already completed; or
  • Other reasonable costs already incurred for the confirmed order.

The applicable refund, if any, will be communicated after reviewing the order status.

7. Cancellation After Stitching or Custom Work Has Started

Once cutting, stitching, embroidery, alteration, customisation or other personalised work has started, cancellation may not be possible in the same manner as an order that has not yet started.

This is because customised work may involve:

  • Cutting of customer-supplied fabric;
  • Labour already performed;
  • Materials already used or purchased;
  • Customised construction;
  • Embroidery or decorative work; or
  • Other work that cannot reasonably be reversed.

Any cancellation request will be reviewed according to the stage of the order and applicable law.

8. Cancellation After Fabric Has Been Cut

Once customer-supplied fabric has been cut according to the confirmed order, the fabric cannot normally be restored to its original uncut condition.

Therefore, cancellation or refund after cutting may be limited depending on:

  • Work already completed;
  • Materials used;
  • Labour performed;
  • The condition of the fabric; and
  • Other reasonable costs incurred.

This does not exclude any consumer or statutory right that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Customer-Requested Changes After Order Confirmation

If the customer requests a change after the order has been confirmed, the request will be assessed based on the stage of the work.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • New design requirements;
  • Re-cutting;
  • Re-stitching;
  • Additional materials;
  • Additional labour;
  • Change of style;
  • Change of measurements; or
  • Other work required because of the customer’s new instructions.

Where possible, we will communicate the applicable additional charge before carrying out the requested change.

10. Change of Mind

A change of mind after customised work has started does not automatically create an entitlement to a full refund.

For example, a customer may later decide that they want:

  • A different design;
  • A different style;
  • A different fitting preference; or
  • A different construction.

Such requests may require additional work or charges.

This section does not affect any legal remedy available where the service has not been provided as agreed or where applicable law provides otherwise.

11. Reference Design and Final Appearance

Providing a reference photograph, screenshot, sketch or other design does not guarantee an identical final reproduction.

The final garment may vary because of:

  • Fabric type and behaviour;
  • Measurements;
  • Body proportions;
  • Availability of materials;
  • Construction requirements;
  • Embroidery or decorative-work limitations;
  • Practical stitching limitations; and
  • Other factors affecting the final garment.

A difference from a reference image by itself does not automatically mean that the garment is defective or that a refund is due.

Where a specific essential design requirement was agreed and the customer believes it has not been followed, the customer should contact Ankita Boutique so that the matter can be reviewed.

12. Fitting or Stitching Issue

If the customer believes that a fitting or stitching issue has occurred due to Ankita Boutique’s workmanship, the customer should contact us within 7 days of receiving the finished garment.

Where the issue is reasonably determined to be attributable to Ankita Boutique’s stitching or fitting work, the applicable correction will be handled according to our Terms & Conditions.

Customers should give Ankita Boutique a reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct the issue before taking the garment to another tailor.

If the garment has already been altered, repaired, re-stitched or modified by another tailor or third party, the free 7-day fitting correction service may not apply because the original stitching condition may have been changed.

13. Refund for Stitching or Workmanship Issues

If a genuine issue attributable to Ankita Boutique cannot reasonably be corrected through appropriate alteration or re-stitching, the matter may be reviewed for an appropriate remedy based on:

  • The nature of the issue;
  • Work already completed;
  • Whether correction is reasonably possible;
  • Materials involved; and
  • Applicable law.

Any remedy will be handled fairly and according to applicable consumer and statutory requirements.

14. Customer-Supplied Fabric Defects

Customers are responsible for informing Ankita Boutique about known defects, damage, weakness, shortage or previous damage in customer-supplied fabric before stitching.

If a pre-existing fabric defect affects the final garment and the issue was not caused or worsened by Ankita Boutique, the resulting issue will not automatically qualify for a refund.

This does not exclude responsibility for damage caused by Ankita Boutique’s own negligence, improper handling or workmanship.

15. Refund Processing

Where a refund is approved, the refund will normally be processed through the original payment method where reasonably possible.

The actual time for the amount to appear in the customer’s account may depend on the payment provider, bank or payment service used.

Customers may be asked to provide necessary transaction or order information to process the refund.

16. Delivery and Pickup Charges

Fabric pickup, finished outfit delivery and courier charges may be separate from stitching charges.

Where a pickup or delivery service has already been performed, the corresponding service charge may not automatically be refundable merely because the customer later requests cancellation of the stitching order.

Any applicable refund will be assessed according to the stage of the order and the services already provided.

17. Failed or Unsuccessful Delivery

If a finished garment cannot be delivered because of:

  • Incorrect or incomplete address;
  • Incorrect phone number;
  • Customer unavailable at the agreed delivery location;
  • Customer refusing or not accepting the delivery; or
  • Other circumstances attributable to the customer,

additional delivery or reattempt charges may apply where applicable.

This will be communicated to the customer where reasonably possible.

18. Pricing Changes

Prices may change from time to time because of changes in:

  • Material costs;
  • Labour;
  • Design complexity;
  • Service requirements;
  • Delivery costs; or
  • Other business costs.

However, once a specific price has been confirmed for an order, that confirmed price will generally apply to that order unless the customer requests additional work or changes the agreed requirements.

19. Promotional Offers and Discounts

Promotional offers, discounts or special pricing may have their own conditions.

Unless specifically stated otherwise:

  • Offers may be limited to specified services or periods;
  • Offers may not be combined with other offers;
  • Additional materials or delivery charges may remain separately payable; and
  • A promotional price does not automatically apply to an order that was confirmed before the offer began.

Specific offer terms communicated at the time of promotion will apply to that offer, subject to applicable law.

20. Orders Not Collected

Ready garments should normally be collected within 30 days from the date they are ready, unless another arrangement has been agreed.

Customers are encouraged to collect garments promptly to avoid storage and handling issues.

Applicable terms regarding uncollected garments are explained in our Terms & Conditions.

21. Rental Garments

Lehenga and Gown rental orders are subject to the rental period and conditions communicated at the time of booking.

Late return, loss, significant damage or missing accessories may result in applicable charges according to the agreed rental terms.

Rental charges are separate from custom stitching charges unless specifically stated otherwise.

22. Statutory and Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to remove, restrict or waive any consumer or statutory right that cannot legally be excluded.

Where applicable law provides a mandatory refund, replacement, correction, remedy or other consumer protection, that legal requirement will prevail to the extent applicable.

23. Policy Updates

We may update this Refund, Cancellation & Pricing Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, pricing, business practices, applicable laws or other relevant requirements.

Customers are encouraged to visit this page periodically to stay informed about the latest policy.

The latest version will be published on this website with the applicable “Last Updated” date.
